A Message From Our President

Ernest Dixon | 2026 - 2028 Chapter President

Greetings,

Welcome to the online home of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, Upsilon Kappa Sigma Chapter.

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as President of a chapter built upon a rich legacy of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. Since our chartering, Upsilon Kappa Sigma has remained committed to the vision established by our Honorable Founders, A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse, and Charles I. Brown, who founded Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated on January 9, 1914.

Our chapter stands as a beacon of service throughout our community, supporting educational initiatives, mentoring young people, partnering with civic organizations, and addressing the needs of those often overlooked. The work we do is not driven by recognition but by responsibility. We understand that our presence in the community carries with it an obligation to lead, uplift, and serve.

As I reflect on our chapter’s journey, I am reminded of the powerful words penned by our First Vice President, Brother Joseph Griffin, in his poem “We Belong Here.” Those words serve as both a declaration and a reminder of our chapter’s place in this community. If you're ever in the Clinton area on SpringRidge Road, you might notice a light blue and white sign near the Krogers fueling station that says, "You Belong here" — a reminder that this home is ours. We belong here because we have never forgotten that Phi Beta Sigma was founded to be an integral part of the community, not separate from it.

Today, that commitment remains stronger than ever. Guided by our principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service, we continue to build upon the foundation laid by our charter members and the generations of brothers who followed.

As President, I am inspired daily by the brothers of Upsilon Kappa Sigma who willingly give their time, talents, and resources to make a difference. Together, we are working to ensure that our chapter remains relevant, impactful, and responsive to the evolving needs of our communities. Whether through our social action initiatives, educational programs, partnerships, or mentoring efforts, our goal is simple: to leave our community better than we found it.

As we look toward the future, we do so with confidence, knowing that our history has prepared us for the work ahead. We will continue to honor our past while embracing new opportunities to serve. We will continue to lead with integrity, act with compassion, and uphold the high ideals of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.

Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about our chapter. We invite you to follow our journey, support our initiatives, and join us as we continue to live out our motto:

Culture For Service and Service For Humanity.

Because after all these years of dedicated service, unwavering commitment, and steadfast brotherhood, one truth remains clear:

We belong here.

Fraternally,

Ernest Dixon
