Guided by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.’s principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service, Upsilon Kappa Sigma brings our national programs to life right here in Clinton. Through community service, educational initiatives, youth mentorship, economic empowerment, and social action, we work alongside local partners to strengthen our community and create opportunities for those we serve.
Bigger and Better Business
When Bigger and Better Business was adopted as a national program, special emphasis was placed on encouraging and promoting Negro businesses. At its inception, the program sought to encourage Negro businesses to improve their business acumen, efficiency and service to the public, to be competitive with other businesses.
We partner with local minority-owned enterprises in Clinton to provide strategic resources, consumer education, and commercial visibility, driving sustainable wealth creation in our community.
Education
Rooted in the belief that educational achievement and community well-being are deeply interconnected, our initiatives extend beyond individual academic pursuits to create meaningful impact at the societal level.
Phi Beta Sigma’s intentional focus on education was firmly established in 1936 with the election of Hon. Bro. Fred G. Minnis, Esq., the Fraternity’s first elected Director of Education. This historic decision, unique among our fraternal counterparts, codified education as a central pillar of the organization and set in motion a tradition of leadership that continues to shape the Fraternity’s service to students, families, and communities.

Strong communities are built through strong partnerships. We welcome opportunities to work with businesses, schools, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and community leaders to expand our impact throughout Clinton.
Social Action
Our communities need strong leadership with a clear BOLD vision and message from our great fraternity. We need to continue to be the voice for the voiceless and work in the communities we serve to drive the most impact. We also need to ensure that we have a lens of equity when it comes to the partnerships that we have established. Our Social Action program is segmented into four focus areas: Brotherhood for Justice Reform, Healthy Communities, Safe Communities, and Voting Empowerment.
