Chartered to Serve

The chapter was chartered by nine founding brothers, whose names are permanently chiseled into its history:
Dixon, Draine, Henderson, Griffin, Orr, Rose, Sampson, Blackmon, and Jones.
Forged through dedication and strengthened in Blu Flames, these men answered the call to build something lasting, something greater than themselves.
Established in Clinton, Mississippi, the chapter serves not only the city but also the surrounding communities of Bolton, Edwards, Raymond, and parts of Pocahontas, collectively impacting an area of approximately 31,000 residents. From the outset, the chapter committed itself to collaboration, most notably with the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Tau Upsilon Zeta Chapter of Clinton, working intentionally to Elevate the Bond and increase community engagement and membership opportunities.
We are more than an organization; this chapter stands as a declaration, a force to be reckoned with. Rooted in Mississippi’s rich cultural legacy, inspired by the blues of the Delta and the resilience of its people, the chapter exists to serve, uplift, and lead.
As history records its beginning, the message remains clear:
This is more than our principles. This is our purpose.
And in Clinton, Mississippi, we belong here.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Upslion Kappa Sigma Chapter

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. established its presence in Clinton, Mississippi affirming from the very beginning that we belong here. Chartered on April 17, 2024, this chapter was founded to extend the fraternity’s global legacy of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service into the heart of the Mighty Magnolia State.
The chapter’s roots are deeply connected to the broader reach of Phi Beta Sigma. As reflected in its founding narrative, the brothers’ footprints extend far beyond Clinton; from Howard University to London, England, and even Ghana' symbolizing the international impact and shared mission of the fraternity. Yet, it is in Mississippi, at the crossroads of history and culture, where this chapter found its home.

Fraternity's motto,

Culture For Service and Service For Humanity

We do not simply hold these ideals as historical markers; we live them daily through tangible programs that support local education, empower small businesses, and advocate for civic engagement.
